The Refuge Series 2024 / 2026

The paper sculptures I've created in the Refuge Series explore the concept of refuge through the use of organic shapes and topographical elements, drawing inspiration from natural landscapes. Each piece embodies a serene, protective space, evoking the safety and tranquility found in nature's contours and forms.

The intricate designs mimic the undulating terrains and flowing lines of hills, valleys, and caverns, inviting viewers to find solace and peace within these miniature sanctuaries. As light moves across the surface, subtle shadows fall into the layered recesses, enhancing the sense of depth and creating shifting atmospheres that echo the play of light in natural landscapes. The accompanying titles complement this theme, reflecting the harmonious interplay between the sculptures and the idea of finding refuge in the natural world.

Presented in Deep wooden frames with acid free mounts, each artwork is protected with an acrylic UV 100 cover.
