The paper sculptures in the Equinox Series explore the quiet equilibrium that exists between shifting seasons, using organic shapes and layered forms to evoke the subtle transitions of the natural world. Each group of four works—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—captures the essence of its season through colour, texture, and movement, reflecting the cyclical rhythms that shape our environment.

Inspired by the balance embodied in the equinox, these miniature reliefs combine intricate hand-cut layers with flowing contours, suggesting the renewal of spring, the radiance of summer, the soft decay of autumn, and the stillness of winter. As light moves across the sculptures, shadows sink into the recesses and illuminate raised edges, creating delicate shifts in atmosphere that mirror the changing qualities of seasonal light.

Together, the four works form a cohesive meditation on time, nature, and transformation. Viewed individually, each piece offers its own distilled mood; viewed as a set, they embody the harmony and contrast inherent in the turning year.

Presented within a single box frame, the collection allows the dialogue between the seasons to unfold within one sculptural space. Each sculpture is crafted from colourfast paper and foil, and protected behind an acrylic UV 100 cover, ensuring that the interplay of shadow, texture, and layered construction remains vibrant over time.
